Becoming a childminder (services for childminders)

Do you want to become a registered Childminder? Contact Luton Children and Families Information Service for a recruitment and information pack.

Funding to set up as a childminder is available from Luton Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership (EYDCP).

Luton Local authority officers will help with:

the provision of free pre-registration briefings and initial childminder training
the cost of some courses
continued professional development
set up of business for new childminders

What will happen?

you will be asked some general monitoring questions
you will be sent a pack containing detailed information to help you decide if childminding is for you
you will be asked to contact the named person on the referral slip if you wish to take things further.

Luton Children and Families Information Service is open from 8.45am to 5.15pm, Monday to Thursday and 8.45am to 4.30 Fridays.
