Countryside Management
There are many opportunities with local conservation groups for volunteers to join in with practical conservation tasks on Luton’s countryside sites.

People interested in becoming a volunteer can help with a number of practical tasks through one of the established groups that work with the Nature Conservation Service for the council.

The British Trust for Conservation Volunteers, the Luton and Dunstable Conservation Volunteers and the North Chilterns Trust help with important nature conservation work on the sites managed by the council.

There are seasonal work programmes put together by the Nature Conservation Service and the volunteer groups, (quarterly for the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers and the North Chilterns Trust and twice a year for the Luton and Dunstable Conservation Volunteers).

No experience is necessary as full training and equipment will be given.

For more information please contact the Nature Conservation staff at the John Dony Field Centre.

Opening times for the John Dony Field centre are Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4.45pm
