Portage Home Vistors
Home visitors offer PORTAGE home teaching (a particular style of weekly, structured teaching activities which is written in partnership with parents or carers).
This service also runs Children’s Opportunity Groups (COG’s) for children with significant educational, medical or physical needs or disability. These groups offer appropriate play opportunities to young children with additional needs and support their families within a safe environment, with skilled staff.
Area inclusion coordinators
Area inclusion coordinators support early identification and intervention for children with special educational needs. This service includes;

Supervision of a portage programme in settings or during home visits

Advice and support for settings with target setting

Advice on practical strategies and resources to help the referred child access learning

Support for transition

Training for staff in referred child’s school if required

Early Years Advisory Teachers
The advisory teachers work with schools and setting to support their work with children who have additional needs usually up to the end of Key stage 1.
