What is Co-Financing?
All European Social Fund (ESF) monies in England in the 2007 – 2013 Programme will be distributed through Co-financing Organisations (CFOs). A CFO acts as an intermediary body supplying both the ESF and the match funding elements to carry out the work as specified in a published prospectus.
As well as Luton, there are four other ESF Co-financing Organisations operating across the East of England region:
- The Skills Funding Agency (also operating on behalf of the Young People's Learning Agency)
- The East of England Development Agency
- Jobcentre Plus
- Bedford Borough Council and Central Bedfordshire Council (administered by Central Bedfordshire)
- NOMS (National Offender Management Service)
