ESF updated
Luton Borough Council has now completed contracting with suppliers to deliver the second half of the European Social Fund co-financed programme (2011 – 2014).

Ten projects worth over £1.5m were offered out to tender, all the contracts have been awarded and the suppliers have started delivery. The focus will again be to support those looking for work or who need their skills updating, and the services provided aim to plug gaps left by the larger, national support providers. There are three projects to support NEETs (those aged 14-19 not in education, employment or training), one for young adults aged 19 to 24 who have yet to find their first job, plus five projects supporting identified groups of adults such as those needed English language support, those with physical or mental disabilities, people volunteering in the third sector and people with caring responsibilities. There is also one project for employees of small to medium sized companies in key growth sectors, which includes airport related businesses and the Cultural Sector, to support them in obtaining a relevant Level 3 qualification.

A list of projects and successful organisations can be downloaded below.
