ESF updated Luton Borough Council and Beds County Council have recently been awarded ESF Co-financing status.

Luton BC and ESF Co-financing

Luton Borough Council has been appointed as a co-financing organisation for the European Social Fund 2007 – 2013 Programme. This means that Luton can invite tenders to supply defined training projects for a total value of £1,250,000 during the first funding period of 2008 to 2010.

Bedfordshire County Council has also been awarded co-financing status, and will have just over £2m of funding available.

Joint prospectus from Luton and Bedfordshire was issued, inviting tenders to deliver a number of training projects to provide defined outputs and outcomes. Organisations were able to tender to deliver a project in Bedfordshire only, in Luton only, or across both areas.  The launch of the prospectus took place on 29th January 2008 at the Conference Centre in Silsoe.  A copy of the presentations given can be downloaded below, as well as a list of the questions raised and answers given at the event.

All tenders received are compared and judged through an open and competitive process as set out in the Public Contract Regulations 2006.

At the close of the bidding on 3rd April 2008, 67 tenders had been recieved covering all projects except project 11 (homeless support), for which no bids were received.  These tenders are currently being appraised and organisations will be contacted shortly to inform them of the result of their bids.  The successful applicant organisations will then be issued with a contract to undertake the work as proposed in their tender.

Technical queries about the procurement process are handled by the e-procurement technical team.
