Regeneration Funding In Luton
Luton Borough Council’s Regeneration Service are responsible for bidding for, managing, administering and advising on various different funding programmes, grant schemes and initiatives.

Windows of opportunity come and go and it is necessary to keep checking web sites for up to date information and to make sure that deadlines for application are not missed. Below is a list of current grant programmes that the Regeneration Service is directly involved in. If you would like more information or advice on any of these programmes or you would like to find out if you are eligible to apply for a grant under these programmes please use the appropriate link to the website where given or use the contact details to find out more.

Funding for Community and Voluntary Organisations
The Regeneration Service hold various funding databases and publications and use the information received to compile a quarterly newsletter for voluntary and community organisations in Luton. We can also alert those on our email list of funding opportunities as they come in.

If you are interested in obtaining funding for a project or for your organisation and don’t know who to apply to we may be able to help you by carrying out some research on your behalf. We can also provide advice and assistance on developing a project and completing application forms.

Investing in Communities
Investing in Communities is a programme set up by the East of England Development Agency.  EEDA have invited Bedfordshire & Luton Economic Development Partnership to bring together relevant partners and agencies in Bedfordshire and Luton to produce a 10 year Business Plan, which will act as a strategic investment plan for the area. 

Funding for future projects will be identified with reference to the 10 year Strategic Investment Plan. Further information on the Investing in Communities program can be obtained from

Neighbourhood Renewal Fund
The Neighbourhood Renewal Fund is a targeted grant.  It can be spent in any way that will tackle deprivation in the most deprived neighbourhoods.  The money, which is only available until March 2006 should contribute to the improvement of mainstream services, particularly, in relation to the floor targets, local targets identified in the Local Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy  (or broader Community Strategy) and other deprivation-related government targets. 

The Local Authority is working with the Luton Forum to agree exactly how to use the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund in support of the priorities of their area.  For more information contact::

European Funding
Under the 2000-2006 Structural Funds Programme, Luton has on-going projects worth over £50 million, attracting almost £26 million of European funding.

Objective 2
Economic regeneration funding,  working with businesses, communities and individuals.

Thirteen of Luton’s wards are eligible for Objective 2 Funding. These wards (based on the pre-2001 wards boundaries) are: Biscot, Challney, Crawley, Dallow, Farley, High Town, Leagrave, Lewsey, Limbury, Saints, South, Stopsley and Sundon Park. Most of the funds are now allocated

Objective 3
Funding to tackle long term unemployment, assist those at risk of not being able to find work, improve training, education and counselling for lifelong learning, encourage entrepreneurship and adaptability in the workplace and   promote equal opportunities and the role of women in the workplace. All areas of Luton are eligible for Objective 3 funding.

Equal
Funding to test and support new measures for those at disadvantage in the labour market. All areas of Luton are eligible for EQUAL funding.
