Before you apply, we advise parents to read the ‘Starting school - A guide for parents/carers’.
This guide is for parents and carers with children born between 1/9/04 and 31/8/05 who would like a statutory school place at a Luton infant or primary school in September 2009.
Apply online
You can use the online application system to apply for your child’s school place.
If you prefer you can download a form from the links below and fill it in by hand before posting it back to the Admissions Team.
Whichever application method you choose, applications must be submitted by 17 October 2008.
Some frequently asked questions about the process are detailed below:
When do I register my child for school?
You need to register your child’s details with your catchment school between the ages of 2½ and 3.
This will ensure that you receive a school admissions pack and application form at the appropriate time. When you receive this admissions pack you need to complete the application form and return it to your preferred school by the specified date.
My child currently attends the nursery class at my preferred school. Do I need to apply for a school place or is admission automatic?
You will need to apply for a main school place as admittance to an early years unit, attached to a community infant/primary school, does not guarantee your child a place at the main school.
All parents applying for statutory admission to a community infant/primary school, do so on the same basis regardless of whether their child has received early years education at the school.
What do I do if I want my child to attend a voluntary aided Catholic school or Crawley Green Infant School?
Parents can no longer apply directly to Crawley Infant School or voluntary aided Catholic schools for a statutory school place. Parents must submit a request form and a supplementary form either via the online system or via the downloads section below. Supplementary forms only need to be completed if parents are requesting a voluntary aided Catholic school.
