Children's Services: Integrated processes

Supporting and integrating Children's Services is vital to Luton Borough Council. The following links will take you to details held on several systems, including National e-CAF, Information Sharing Guidance and the ContactPoint Directory.

ContactPoint
ContactPoint was a national directory of all children and young people under 18 (between the ages of 18 - 25 with consent) and the professionals who may be working with them. The new government have announced that ContactPoint is to be de-commissioned at Noon on 6th August 2010. Follow this link for a more detailed update and information about discussions to do with a "replacement" system.

Information Sharing
Information sharing is key to the Government's goal of delivering better and more efficient public services that are coordinated around the needs of children, young people and families. To support local areas in embedding good practice in information sharing, the Government has produced information-sharing guidance and supporting materials which can be found here.

National e-CAF
National e-CAF is a secure IT system for practitioners to store, access and share information captured through a Common Assessment Framework (or CAF) form. CAF is an overarching framework to help professionals who work with children to provide an improved service when children or young people access multiple services in different areas such as Health, Social Care and Education.  E-CAF is being trailed at the moment and will start full national rollout in the first Qtr of 2011.  More detailed information can be found here
