Come and see Britain's Got Talent comedy duo, Stavros Flatley, the Honey Monster*, star of this year's Library Theatre panto, together with the Deputy Mayor of Luton, Cllr Morel Benard, switch on Luton's Christmas lights.
There’s great entertainment for all the family in St George’s Square; look out for eccentric elves, Pitch and Patch getting up to mischief, and an 8ft tall stilt walking ice queen with her winter dragon guards! Plus the musical spirit of Christmas will be live on our Choir stage, whether it's gospel, jazz or traditional, our local choirs will be belting out those Christmas classics. While you're enjoying that, come along and find that perfect Christmas gift, either at our Christmas craft market on the Square, or at the many shops in the mall.
For budding dancing on ice stars there’s an ice rink available on Saturday 14 November to Sunday 15th November, free of charge. Come and enjoy the fun.
In The Mall you can join Stavros Flatley, Santa, Sportacus** and the Mall Monster for The Mall Christmas parade before visiting Santa in his grotto at Central Square. Heart FM’s Gaz and Babs will be entertaining the crowds with a stage show at 4pm in Smith’s Square and will lead the count down to The Mall Christmas light switch on. Then they will start the lantern parade out of the mall and down George St, to the town hall, for the outdoor switch-on.
The event is organised by Luton Borough Council and The Mall (Luton).
This event is sponsored by the Luton and Dunstable Express and Heart 97.6 FM
