What’s happening now?

Following the new government’s spending review, a statement by the Chief Secretary to the Treasury was made on 17 June 2010 confirmed the funding for Luton Dunstable Busway.

Vegetation clearance of the site took place earlier this year and it is expected that the track will start to be lifted in the autumn.

The demolition of the disused railway bridges is expected to commence in September and should be complete by the end of the year (with the exception of the Telford Way Bridge).

The detailed design work has also commenced, with major site works starting next year.

 Further details of construction activities will be published in due course.
