elearning at luton
Luton has been included in wave 3 of a 15 wave programme (2005/06-2020/21) resulting in every secondary school being renovated, providing facilities fit for the 21st Century.

Great emphasis will be place on the use of information and communication technology to support the delivery of personalised learning. In addition, Luton schools intend to work collaboratively to increase the breadth and depth of the curriculum on offer to pupils, particularly at Key Stage 4.

The published timescales for a Wave 3 authority have recently been revised and the Government is now working to the following key tasks and dates:-

  • Submission of Education Vision  - Jan 2006
  • Submission of Strategic Business Case - July 2007
  • Submission of Outline Business Case (phase 1 schools) - August 2007
  • Publication of procurement notice in the Official Journal of the European Union - October/November 2007
  • Issue Invitation to Continue Dialogue - March 2008

  • Financial Close - May 2009
  • Operation of Local Education Partnership and start of construction - July 2009
